What is the difference between an inground hot tub and an inground spa?

As seasoned pool consultants, we often come across inquiries regarding the distinction between inground pools and inground hot tubs. However, it’s important to understand that there are no significant differences between the two, and the names are often used interchangeably.

Both an inground spa and an inground hot tub essentially refer to the same product—a pool designed for relaxation, hydrotherapy, and hot water therapy. While some may argue that inground spas are typically smaller and built alongside larger swimming pools, and inground hot tubs are made of acrylic with more jets, these variations are minimal and subjective.

In the pool industry, the terms “inground spa” and “inground hot tub” are often used interchangeably, causing confusion among customers. Ultimately, what truly matters is finding a pool that meets your specific needs and preferences, regardless of the label it carries.

To navigate through this confusing landscape and make an informed decision, we recommend consulting reliable pool specialists like Immerspa Inground Hot Tubs. Their expertise will guide you in choosing a pool solution that aligns perfectly with your requirements, regardless of whether it’s referred to as an inground spa or an inground hot tub.

Yes, of course! This is one of the many reasons why Immerspa is the best choice for you. Choose from over 20 styles, assorted colors, and number of jets to customize your spa. With Immerspa there is an ideal spa for everyone, and we will help you find the best option to complement your lifestyle.

The Immerspa fiberglass pools are much more durable, need little to no maintenance, and have a clean and sophisticated look. Immerspas are made of fiberglass because fiberglass is durable, holds longevity, and requires limited maintenance. It does not need a replacement liner or resurfacing. The installation is quick and compatible with automated low sodium saltwater systems.

Easily integrated into a landscape design with a more appealing finish, integrated into the landscaping and versatile installation. Installation options include, inground, partially in the ground, out of the ground or roof top applications

An Immerspa produces the soothing sound of water and harmonizes your space by bringing the spa feeling home. You can relax at home in your backyard while the soothing jets can relax your tired muscles.

usability

A spa’s warm water with bubbles/jets creates an ideal environment to perform a variety of exercises to get fit in your Immerspa. You get a minimal impact workout that is easy on your joints while preventing injury and still improving muscle, flexibility, and promotes weight loss.

There is no recommended time limit for being in your immerspa, however, it is best to be sure you are hydrated while you are in the spa by drinking plenty of water.

There is no reason that you cannot bring your baby into the spa. If you keep the spa just below body temperature Your baby will enjoy it! If you keep the water at that temperature, you should limit the amount of time the baby is in the spa. Your baby should not overheat or get cold, as this is the same for all small children, not too hot and not too long…

Within the first trimester of a pregnancy, it is normally safe to use an Immerspa spa. Once the baby starts developing it is not recommended to go in. Please consult your physician if you think you are pregnant.

Maximizing Year-Round Enjoyment: Using an Inground Spa in Cold Climates

As the temperature drops and the winter season arrives, many homeowners in cold climates may question whether it’s possible to use an inground spa throughout the year. The good news is that with proper planning, insulation, and maintenance, you can create a cozy oasis right in your backyard that can be enjoyed all year round, even in the coldest of winters. In this post, we will explore the advantages of using an inground spa in cold climates and provide practical tips to help you make the most of your spa experience throughout the year.

Enhanced Insulation:

Inground spas designed for cold climates are built with enhanced insulation features to retain heat efficiently. This includes insulation materials surrounding the shell, high-quality thermal covers, and advanced plumbing systems. These measures prevent heat loss and help maintain a comfortable water temperature even in freezing conditions.

Energy-Efficient Heating Systems:

Modern inground spas incorporate energy-efficient heating systems that are specifically designed to operate effectively in cold climates. These systems utilize advanced technology to efficiently heat the water, while minimizing energy consumption. By investing in an inground spa with an energy-efficient heating system, you can enjoy the benefits of year-round use without worrying about skyrocketing utility bills.  If you are in a cold climate and would like year round use with faster heating times, you should consider upgrading to gas heating system and premium pump.

Winterizing Techniques:

Proper winterization is crucial for the longevity and performance of your inground spa in cold climates. This involves draining the water, blowing out the plumbing lines, and protecting the spa components from freezing temperatures. By following guidelines and employing professional winterization techniques, you can ensure that your spa remains in optimal condition during the winter months and is ready for use when the weather warms up.

Enjoying Nature’s Beauty:

One of the unique advantages of using an inground spa in a cold climate is the opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature while staying warm and comfortable. Imagine relaxing in your spa as gentle snowflakes fall around you or enjoying a steamy soak while surrounded by a winter wonderland. It’s an extraordinary experience that allows you to embrace the serenity and tranquility of the colder months.

Health and Wellness Benefits:

Using an inground spa in cold climates offers numerous health and wellness benefits. The warm water can help alleviate muscle tension, promote relaxation, and improve circulation. Regular use of the spa during winter can also boost the immune system, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being. It’s a perfect way to combat the winter blues and embrace self-care throughout the year.

Don’t let the cold climate deter you from enjoying the luxurious comfort of an inground spa. With the right planning, insulation, and maintenance, you can create a year-round oasis in your backyard. Embrace the unique experiences and health benefits that come with using an inground spa in a cold climate, and make the most of every season. Consult with a professional spa installer to ensure your spa is designed and equipped to withstand the challenges of colder temperatures and get ready to indulge in relaxation no matter the weather.

Remember, the key to enjoying your inground spa in a cold climate is proper maintenance, adherence to safety guidelines, and ensuring your spa is designed for year-round use. So, why not extend your spa season and let the warmth and serenity embrace you, no matter how chilly it gets outside?

Absolutely! Immerspa’s cold plunge pools are designed for year-round enjoyment, even in chilly climates. The key to using these pools in winter lies in placing the water source units in a temperature-controlled room. By doing so, you can ensure that your cold plunge pool remains accessible and inviting throughout the seasons.

Immerspa also offers a groundbreaking hybrid cold plunge pool that can be utilized as a hot tub during the winter months. Equipped with the highest-grade heat pump available on the market, this innovative pool can be heated to a soothing 7-45 degrees Celsius (45-113 degrees Fahrenheit). This means you can effortlessly transition from an invigorating cold plunge to a warm and relaxing soak, all within the same pool.

So, whether you crave the exhilaration of a cold plunge in the snow or prefer a cozy winter soak, Immerspa’s cold plunge pools have you covered. With the right setup and our cutting-edge technology, your year-round aquatic paradise awaits, even in the frostiest of climates!

Certainly! Immerspa offers versatile spa options designed to accommodate a wide range of temperatures, making them suitable for use as both cold plunge pools and hot tubs. Our advanced systems, including the highest-grade heat pumps available on the market, allow you to enjoy water temperatures ranging from a refreshing 7 degrees Celsius (45 degrees Fahrenheit) for cold plunges to a soothing 45 degrees Celsius (113 degrees Fahrenheit) for hot tub relaxation. By strategically placing water source units in a temperature-controlled room, you can seamlessly switch between these experiences, ensuring year-round comfort and enjoyment, even in cold climates like Canada and the Northern USA. So, whether you crave a brisk cooldown or a warm soak, Immerspa’s spas are engineered to meet your diverse aquatic needs.

Maintenance

A great rule of thumb is to keep the temperature at least 5 degrees lower than when in use. It is necessary to keep it at lower temperatures when it’s not in use so that energy consumption isn’t too high.

This may be the first thing you ask about when you got your Immerspa. We recommend you completely change the water in your spa at least once every three months.

Water testing from a local pool supply store will help ensure you are at appropriate levels for chlorine or bromine, PH, and alkalinity. Spa Marvel has a product that helps make chemical use less and conditions your skin. When organic stains occur in your spa, products such as Lawrason’s Stain Out can be used in tiny amounts to eliminate stains. We recommend weekly vacuum maintenance with a small hand-held rechargeable spa vacuum to eliminate debris.

You should replace your spa filter every year, rinse it every two weeks with a hose, and clean it with a filter cleaning solution every two months. Rinsing it with a hose will dislodge any surface debris caught in the filter. Also letting it soak in a filter cleaning solution for a few hours will penetrate any built-up dirt and debris.
